Naeema Arrastia - Founding Partner

Naeema Arrastia is the Sr. Marketing Consultant for whynameus?. She grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and has a passion for small business marketing. She understands first hand how many hats a small business owner must wear and knows that marketing often takes the back seat to other items on the "To Do List". The thrill of helping a company define their marketing strategies and goals is an exciting and challenging opportunity she is always up for.

Having earned her BA in Communications and MBA in Marketing she has the book knowledge to understand the complicated concepts. However, her 10 plus years of real world experience provides her the street smarts to know when to break the rules and just get it done.

Naeema has worked in a variety of industries from finance and non-profits to fashion and consumer packaged goods. Her experience spans several fields and levels of business ownership. With the launch of whynameus? she is now able to reach out to the masses with effective marketing plans at the right price for a small business owner.

Now that is a great question! whynameus? has one of those quirky stories. So here it is in a nut shell...

One of the founding partners taught inner city youth how to  use computer technology as a creative outlet. The class was tasked with putting together a documentary about their inner city experience and how it relates to stereotypes. When the project was over the class then had to name the production. After several questionable names were proposed one student got up a little annoyed and moved by the project and said,

"Teacher, why are we always having to put names on stuff why can't it just be what it is....why do they have to name us."

And the name was born "whynameus?". It is based on the premise that the work should speak for itself. Fast forward several years and the name still makes sense.  We are here to make our clients successful- not get caught up in our own grandeur.
